ARTIST BIO

Rosie L lives in  Melbourne, Victoria, originally hailing from Albury, NSW.  From a young age she always enjoyed and found pleasure in creative endeavours, engaging in artistic opportunities primarily as more of a hobby than a career path.

In recent years having entered retirement and countless Melbourne lockdowns, she found herself in the fortunate position of being able to reconnect with her passion for art.

Rosie L is an active memeber of the Art of Flow Creative Community.  Within this group she has the opportunity to interact with other artistic minds who continuously encourage, inspire and support her to push the boundaries of her own artisic ideas.

As an artist Rosie L has a very eclectic style, although the core of many paintings often have a more whimsical feel.  The flow and style of her work can change dramatically during the creative process.  0ften incorporating many layers. During the progression of her pieces they often lead to spontaneous directrions being taken as she works intuitively, resulting in the final piece revealing itself to her, rather than following a pre-conceived idea. Rosie L's imagination is often the spark to creating and developing a painting.

Through the evolution of her artistic journey, the materials she now uses vary.  Originally, Rosie L just worked with aacrylic inks on canvas.  However, she has since discovered the joy of incorporating a greater variety of materials and has begun to produce works intergrating mixed media, acrylic paint, ink, soft pastels, oil sticks and collage and a array of surfaces.

When questioned about the personal inspiration that lies behind her art, the answer was quite simple, it brings her joy, it makes her smile, it makes her happy.  Rosie L is endlessly excited to keep creating.  Selling numerous pieces and being able to share this joy has created a continuous drive that keeps her motivation permanently heightened and makes it impossible for Rosie L to envisage a future for herself that doesn't include creating and sharing her art.
